Even with its illustrious history notwithstanding, the Cartier Santos is an outstanding piece. The stainless steel timepiece cuts a striking figure with its silvered opaline dial and blue steel hands. Much larger than its ancestors, the watch measures 39.8mm x 47.5mm, which puts it well within modern size specs. The mechanical automatic watch is powered by the Cartier caliber 1847 MC movement. Highly legible with its Roman numerals and date window at 6 o’clock, the watch looks especially striking upon its matching bracelet. If only Dumont had had access to this watch! It just may have been considerably more practical than the original!
