The IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Tribute to Calypso Limited Edition (IW378203) self-winding automatic watch, features a 44mm stainless steel case surrounding a blue dial on a black rubber strap with a stainless steel tang buckle. Functions include hours, minutes, small seconds, chronograph, day, and date. There is a small wooden disc that makes the 2500 watches in the Aquatimer Chronograph “Cousteau Divers” limited edition such a sought-after rarity. The wood was taken from the interior of what is probably the world’s most famous research vessel, the “Calypso”. For it was with her that “Commander” Jacques-Yves Cousteau spent so many years sailing the Seven Seas. The authentic mementos depict the ship in silhouette and are set in the watch’s solid steel back cover, where they are visible behind sapphire glass. The condition of this discontinued Aquatimer Calypso is very good. The 44mm diameter stainless-steel case does not show any signs of ever being polished and the overall finish is stunning, along with its stainless-steel Tang buckle clasp. The blue dial is in perfect condition and complemented by the white hands and respective indices. The black rubber strap shows very little use and is in very good condition.
