Blancpain introduces the latest edition of its Villeret Quantième Perpétuel in celebration of the leap year. This refined timepiece showcases a perpetual calendar complication and features a striking green dial inspired by the lush forests of Le Brassus.

Crafted from red gold, the 40.30 mm x 10.70 mm case envelops a sunburst dial adorned for the first time in an elegant green hue. The slender red gold hour-markers echo the distinctive layout found in Blancpain watches with this complication.

The calendar indications, including the date, day of the week, and month, are displayed at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock, respectively, accompanied by a moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock. The sub-dial at 12 o’clock integrates a leap-year indicator. A central seconds hand complements the hour and minute hands.

The intricate mechanism automatically adjusts the date display to accommodate variations in months and years, including leap years, until February 2100, thanks to an exception in the Gregorian calendar occurring three centuries out of four.

The meticulous finishes, red gold honeycomb oscillating weight, and silicon balance spring of the self-winding 5954 Calibre movement are visible through the sapphire crystal case back. Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this movement offers a 72-hour power reserve and features a security system developed by Blancpain to safeguard the calendar mechanism from damage during adjustments.

The case band remains clean and sleek with no visible calendar correctors, as all calendar and moon phase adjustments can be made using four small levers placed under the lugs. These patented correctors are easily operated by fingertip, without the need for additional tools.

Water-resistant to 30 meters / 100 feet and adorned with a dark brown alligator leather strap secured by a folding clasp, the Blancpain Villeret Quantième Perpétuel with a green dial, ref. 6656-3653-55B, is priced at Euro 55,750.
