Audemars Piguet’s [RE]Master collection has unveiled its long-awaited second iteration, the [RE]Master02, four years after the debut of its predecessor. Departing from the conventional, this timepiece is a nod to the brand’s heritage while embracing contemporary trends in watchmaking.

The [RE]Master02 draws inspiration from a rare reference, the ref. 5159BA, a vintage piece produced in limited quantities during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Unlike its predecessor, this watch features a substantial 41mm Sand Gold case, a departure from the smaller, asymmetrical cases of the original series.

Distinctive in design, the dial of the [RE]Master02 showcases the iconic “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” hue of the Jumbo Royal Oak, achieved through Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and segmented into twelve triangles. Sand gold lines act as hour markers, complementing the hands and the brushed, faceted case, paying homage to the architectural movement of Brutalism.

Powering the [RE]Master02 is the automatic Caliber 7129, renowned for its slim profile at 2.8mm thickness, providing a 52-hour power reserve. Limited to 250 pieces, each watch is priced at $47,200, embodying exclusivity and craftsmanship.
