The vintage Tudor Prince we have here puts together multiple details that we would love to see just one off on a watch. With a rose logo, a black dial, a red and black ‘roulette’ date wheel, and applied hour markers, there is a lot to love here. Sure, Rolex is more well known (although Tudor is making quite a name as of late especially) but vintage Tudor, many times, had more creativity than Rolex. All these little details are risks and Tudor was not afraid to throw them all together there– the payoff is quite nice some 55 years later. Tying in with modern Tudor collectors is the “smiley” text at six o’clock, a feature seen on early Black Bays. The reference number is the same as is seen on some Tudor Rangers of this era.
A great, less commonly seen detail for this vintage Tudor is the roulette date wheel, alternating from black on the odd dates and red on the evens.Â
